四级词汇讲解:
本句是only置于句首的强调句型，其主干是an aggressive research and development might findways。由of引导的介词短语of breaking our dependence on fossil fuels or dealing with it在句中作后置定语，用来修饰ways。
aggressive的意思是“有进取精神的;好斗的”。如:
To be a winner in the hod competition, you must be aggressive.要想在激烈的竞争中获胜，你必须有进取心。
find ways of doing sth.意为“找到做某事的方法”。fossil fuels的意思是“矿物燃料”。
deal with的意思是“处理，应对”。如:
I think we should work out a strategy to dead with this situation.我想我们应该制定一项行动计划来应对这种情况。
英语四级考点归纳:
only位于句首表强调的情况。
only位于句首时表强调，可以强调主语，也可以强调状语。应注意:
※ 当only位于句首强调状语时，主句要用倒装语序，从句用正常语序。而被强调的状语一般为副词短语、介词短语或状语从句(包括when引导的从句)，或者是then，in this way等。如:
Only when I tried to unlock the door, did I realize that I had left my key in the room.直到我想开门时，我才意识到我把钥匙落在了房间里。
※ 当only位于句首强调主语时，句子应用正常语序。如:
Only a hard study can help you pass the exam.只有努力学习，你才能通过考试。
